Manager Dorset Adventure Park

We’re looking for a strong, innovative and tenacious Manager to lead our staff team and manage the Park.

£28,000 – £35,000, plus bonuses a year dependant in experience | 45 hours a week | 28 days holiday a year.

You’ll be leading a great bunch of people, who all work really hard and care about customer experience. The team currently consists of 2 full time Assistant Managers, and a team of around 60 full and part time seasonal staff. You will be required to work really hard in our peak season (June-August) and can take more time off in the winter months. 

You’ll work 2 in every 3 weekends between April and October, but then have every weekend off during the winter.

The must haves…

Working with children

You must be a nice person; positive, caring and compassionate.

You’ll spend a lot of time around children, so being able to engage with and enthuse young people is essential. 

At least 3 years experience working in a relevant managment role.

It’s essential that you can think for yourself and are able to delegate effectively to our staff team, getting the best out of them,  making sure the site is the best it can be and that customers always have a good experience with us. 

Excellent social skills – you’ll be talking to clients face-to-face, so you need to be warm and engaging.

You must have a strong character and be able to manage confrontational situations with either staff or customers effectively. If you’re the kind of person who will shy away, or just ignore something that needs dealing with then don’t bother applying. 

Great written communication – you’ll need to be able to communicate with clients and staff in a professional manner. 

You must be able to take charge of high pressure first aid situations whilst remaining calm.

You’ll have to enthusiastically muck in and turn your hand to anything that’s required when we’re busy, from cleaning the toilets to serving food in the Snack Shack. 

A driver’s license.

The nice to haves…

RLSS Trainer Assessor.

First Aid Trainer Assessor.

Extra skills and qualifications that are useful to us; HR, chainsaw and strimming, building, plumbing etc.

Where and Why?

Dorset Adventure Park is in the Purbeck countryside, overlooking Corfe Castle. The vast majority of your work will be here, but on occasion you may be required to travel.

Ideally we would like the manager to start in March, but this is flexible.
